Hawke's Bay Today, The Leader (Hastings), The Napier Courier, The Napier Mail, The Village Press (Havelock North), The Wairoa Star, Dannevirke News, and The Chatham Islander are held permanently. Please ask at the Reference Desk if you wish to view these papers.

All newspapers - except the local Hawke's Bay newspapers listed above - are held for one month and then removed. Those for the previous week are held in the Research & Information Department (1st floor of the Napier branch). After this, most are then stored in the Basement Stack room - please ask at the Reference Desk if you wish to access them.
NB: Retention times are shorter at Taradale Library
Newspapers are not available for loan. A photocopier is available at our Taradale branch and on the 1st floor at Napier Library.
