City Loan
City Loan is a request service operating between the Napier & Hastings Libraries. If you are using one of the Napier Libraries and the item you require is held by the Hastings Libraries, you may request it on City Loan. Use the City Loan Request Form or contact the library. The item will be sent to Napier or Taradale Libraries for you to collect.
Similarly, patrons using Hastings Libraries may request items from the Napier Libraries. Items will be sent to Hastings District Libraries for collection.

What can I request on City Loan?
You may request any item from the "free" book collections.
Audio-visual material (including DVDs, videos, CDs, talking books, language kits), rentals, reference items or magazines are not available on City Loan. Try Interloans for these items.
How do I request an item on City Loan?
Fill in the City Loan request form online, or contact the library.
How much does it cost?
View current fees and charges, the fee is payable when you collect the item.
How will I know when the item is available?
You will receive a notice in the mail, or an email, when the item is available for you to collect from Napier or Taradale Libraries. Come in with your library card to have your request issued.
How long will it take?
We will do our utmost to get the item to you as soon as possible. It is difficult to estimate a date as this is determined by the current borrower and the reserves waiting list.
How long may I keep the item?
The normal Napier Library issue periods apply.
If I have a Hastings Libraries card, can I place my own reserves?
Yes, if you have a Hastings Library card and pin number you may choose to reserve an item yourself through the Hastings Online Catalogue. With this option you will need to collect the item from one of the Hastings Libraries.
The usual Hastings Library reserve fee applies.
