Inter-Library Loan
If Napier Libraries do not hold an item that you wish to borrow we can request that item for you from other libraries through the Interlibrary loan or interloan service. This is is a co-operative scheme where libraries throughout New Zealand lend items to each other. These can include books, journal articles, music scores, microfilms and, in some cases, CDs and DVDs. To access this service you need to be a member of the library and it does incur a charge - see our fees and charges page for details.
Items can be requested on-line by filling out the form below or in person at the library, remember to have your library card handy and as many details as possible about the item you are requesting.
Once the item arrives the interloan is reserved on your card and you will receive a notice, just as for a normal reserve. The usual overdue charges apply, just as they would for Napier Libraries’ items.
