We are proud to have an extensive collection of items for children and young people here at Napier Libraries, and to also be able to offer programmes and events designed for the younger members of the community.
Children's Library Collection
With our extensive collection of library items for children, which we are continually updating and adding to, Napier Libraries aim to:
- Foster a love of literature and learning
- Stimulate the imagination, the creative use of language and an appreciation of art
- Encourage children to develop a lifelong habit of reading for pleasure and information
- Develop children’s knowledge of language and ability to read fluently
- Enable children to expand their knowledge
- Stimulate children’s critical faculties.

Napier Libraries aim to create vibrant and welcoming spaces where young people feel comfortable working, studying, and engaging in library collections and services for their recreation. A big part of our youth-focus is our Young Adults Collection.
